Reverse Cellular Search Works Best If You Know the Carrier

January 21st, 2008 by autoPiloting

Have you ever gotten a call from a cell phone number and not known who was calling? You could just call the phone number back and ask what the person wanted but this can be awkward and uncomfortable, especially if you find out that it was someone that you really didn’t want to talk to! A better way to go is to use a Reverse Cellular Search to find out who the caller was without having to call the person.

There are directories of reverse cell phone numbers available online which allow you to input the phone number that you have and then find out who it was that called. It is even possible to use this service to do an unlisted phone number lookup and find someone that doesn’t necessarily want to be found. Hey, they called you first so all is fair, right?

To do this, though, it’s best if you have some idea of who the phone carrier is. There is no single cell phone directory. Search services have compiled many numbers in one place but the process is a lot easier if you know who the carrier is. Although you don’t know who called, you might be able to make an educated guess about the carrier based on the location of the call.

Simply enter the area code into an online search and find out which cell phone carriers provide service there. Start with the biggest provider first and work your way down the list. You should know who called you in no time.
