Sleep Apnea in Children

November 23rd, 2008 by SMO

Sleep apnea in children is a very serious medical condition and should not be left untreated. Untreated sleep apnea during childhood can lead to serious and sometime potentially life-threatening conditions. A child that has sleep apnea and is not treated can experience developmental problems, learning problems, and behavior problems. More serious problems that can develop include high blood pressure, heart problems, and failure to grow. Untreated sleep apnea can also result in mental problems such as depression and personality changes. If you think your child displays the symptoms of sleep apnea, you should consult his/her physician for a true diagnosis and do not leave the sleep disorder untreated.

In some cases, removal of the tonsils and adenoids may eliminate the symptoms of sleep apnea in children. Some children with mild sleep apnea may outgrow it. However, some children are required to use CPAP machines in order to treat sleep apnea. A sleep apnea machine may take some adjusting to for both you and your child, but the results that you will see in your child’s life will be well worth the effort. If your child has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and the physician has prescribed a CPAP machine, we have a wide selection of CPAP supplies to choose from. Don’t risk your child’s physical and mental well being. Sleep apnea is a treatable disorder and does not have to result in serious consequences.

Mystery Headaches

November 19th, 2008 by SMO

I had been getting headaches for a few months, but didn’t think much about it. After all, times are tough, and work has been stressful. The company I have worked at forever has not been laying people off like so many other companies have, but business has been down. Plus, the stresses of daily life just seem to have been building.

When the headaches turned into regular migraines though, I had to do something about it. I hate going to doctors, but I knew it had come to that. So I went, and they couldn’t find anything wrong right away. So it was off for more tests like stress tests, blood work and all kinds of fun stuff.

Still they found nothing though. But the main physician I had been going to did bring up a very good point. Because of the suggestion of my physician disability insurance is something I looked into. I had never thought about getting disability insurance quotes. In fact I had never really thought about long term disability insurance at all! But the doctor pointed me in the direction of several articles that pointed out how common it really was for people to become disabled. And since they couldn’t figure out what was wrong yet, I should look into it now.

Change That Air Filter

October 21st, 2008 by pattya

Many people fail to recognize the serious importance of changing their air conditioner filters on a regular basis. Almost all air conditioner manufacturers will recommend that the air filter be changed at least once a month. Do you change yours every month? More than likely, the answer is “no” because most people don’t. Unfortunately this is the main reason that an air conditioning system will have a major failure. If the filter is clogged, the unit is forced to work harder which causes things to wear out more quickly. Compare the price of a filter to the price of a compressor, and it becomes a no brainer!

There are many kinds of filters to choose from. The most common is the disposable paper filter. They are inexpensive, and they will do the trick. They don’t do a very good job of filtering out things like pollen and germs though. Washable hepa filters are more expensive, but they will filter out more of the bad stuff. The disadvantage here though is that washing them is time consuming and difficult. The very best option is the IQAir healthpro replacement filter for the whole house air filter system. By far the most expensive filter listed here, but well worth it. These are typically only available from the manufacturer or a homeopathic practitioner. Whichever route you choose though, your air conditioner filter needs to be changed monthly.

HGH Injections—Expensive and High is Dosage

October 16th, 2008 by SMO

Seekers of hgh supplements are often intrigued by the fact that it comes in injection form - that is, till they learn what the price tag is.  Daily dosages can cost $1,000 to $1500 dollars.

But are high cost injections the human growth hormones better than OTC, non-prescription ones?

Experts differ on this.

Some doctors believe that the injections are more direct and get a larger amount of the hormone in this system. This is primarily due to the fact that injections are made for people who suffer from certain diseases where a lack of growth hormone is presented.  These illnesses benefit greatly from large dosages of the hgh hormone.

The average person will not need such dosages.

With this is mind, there are some delivery systems that are far superior to others.

For instance, nasal sprays are probably the best method for hormone supplementation outside of an injection.  There are also pills and powders but even skeptics will say that a nasal spray would more than likely deliver the hormone more directly than any other OTC method.

To locate nasal spray based hgh supplements, an online search will uncover a wealth of online shops offering this coveted and natural anti-aging product.

My Wife Says I Need to Get Some Sleep

August 20th, 2008 by SMO

I guess I have to go to the doctors! My wife has finally booted me from the bedroom after years of threatening to do so. Apparently I snore like a truck driver. Maybe even like the truck itself. I didn’t believe her for a really long time; who actually thinks they snore? But she taped me last night, and the whole thing was almost comical. And, frustrated and tired (apparently), she told me this morning that I wasn’t coming back into her bedroom until I went and saw a doctor. I looked up snoring on the internet, and there’s a good chance, considering my weight, that this has to do with sleep apnea. Which, if that’s true, I’ll probably have to be hooked up to one of those CPAP machines with that crazy looking sleep apnea mask. Either way I have to go in for a sleep test, which sounds like the least intimidating way to visit a hospital EVER. You get to check in, answer some questions, and pop down for a nap. So, all in all, is actually kind of funny: little does my wife know that sleeping with all this CPAP equipment is going to probably be more annoying than my snoring. Well….probably, anyway.
