Personality Traits of a Custom Home Builder in FL

April 22nd, 2008 by autoPiloting

You’ve decided that you want to hire a custom luxury home builder in FL to create your dream home for you. This project is special to you, though, so you have some concerns about what it’s going to be like to work with someone on this.

Although each custom home builder in FL will be different from the others, there are some basic personality traits that many of them share. If you can work well with someone who has these personality traits, you should be fine.

Here are some of the common traits that a luxury home builder in FL may embody:

  • Creative. Custom design is an artistic field.
  • Enjoys working with his or her hands. This is a builder we’re talking about here.
  • Great work ethic. These guys don’t stay in a word-of-mouth business by slacking on the job.
  • Laidback. Is there anyone in Florida who isn’t laidback?
  • Quiet. Most builders, like many creative types, want to do what they’re doing with a minimum of extra conversation.

Despite these common traits, you’ll naturally click with some builders better than others. Hold out for the one that works best for you so that your home comes out the way that you want it.

Going to Golf College is no Joke

October 19th, 2007 by autoPiloting

Picture this - it’s your junior year of high school and everyone around you is rapidly completing their college applications. Everyone’s talking about which types of colleges they are going to with the most popular choices being community college, liberal arts colleges and art or technical schools. When the conversation comes around to you, you say that you’re going to golf college. Everyone laughs at you. They haven‘t even heard of golf schools. You might be ashamed at first but hold out for awhile and see what happens.

Now picture this - you’re at your ten year high school reunion. The kids who went to art school are complaining about the menial jobs that they have to work to make a living while trying to create art. The community and liberal arts kids are lamenting the amount of loan money that they took out to study topics that turned out to be less than useful in the real world. The technical college folks aren’t at the reunion because they’re working eighty hour weeks to get an edge up in their engineering firms. And you’re sipping cocktails and contentedly talking about the satisfaction you derive from your golf career. You may have been the joke of your school, but who do you think is going to have the last laugh?
