Working my way up the bail bonds ladder
November 16th, 2008 by pattya
When I started working in the bail bonds business I will admit that I really didn’t know what I was doing. Luckily I was only working as a receptionist, answer the phones, taking payments and checking to make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be at the right time. I started off with a New Mexico bail bonds agency, and I really enjoyed my job. I felt like I was helping people who really needed it and it also made me realize that not everyone who gets arrested is a hardened criminal. Quite often it’s normal people making stupid choices.
After a year or so working the desk, I felt that I have achieved a solid working knowledge of the bail bonds industry. Feeling bold one day I asked for a promotion: I wanted to be a bail bondsman. I was turned down, not because my boss didn’t believe in me, but because there wasn’t a need for another bonds person.
After some consideration, I decided to apply for work with a Las Vegas bail bonds agency. I figured there may be a more of a need in Las Vegas than New Mexico and I was right. I heard back within a week and was hired.
