How to Turn your City Truck into a Real Workhorse
September 23rd, 2008 by SMO
You bought a shiny new pickup truck from a local dealership. You purchased a monthly membership to your local carwash, made sure to buy a full supply of armor-all and hung a deodorizer on your rear-view mirror. That’s nice. Now you can turn the heads of your fellow drivers on the local toll way; but can you drive your truck over a dirt road, to a job site, or even to an outdoor monster truck festival without feel a bit… embarrassed? With a few simple suggestions for accessories, you can turn your city slicker truck into a vehicle any workman would be proud of:
· Add a truck rack. A truck rack is a great idea for drivers who need to keep tools, equipment, ladders and other items handy and organized. There are also racks designed specifically for items such as kayaks, canoes and saw tables.
· Truck tool boxes are useful and look great. One of the best ways to show the world that you view your truck as a lot more than a highway ride is to install a tool box to the truck bed. Today’s models offer a range of choices and allow workers to take all of their tools from job to job, with the security of knowing you can lock up your box and keep everything secure.
While pickup truck drivers will be excited to turn their vehicle into a truly rugged ride, most serious truck owners will also let you know that the trucks that look the best are the ones that carry a month’s worth of dust on their truck beds and mud on their tires. So lose the armor-all.
