I was told that my boat needs to have new outboard parts. We had to have these outboard parts replaced. The boat was close to 15 years old, so I should have expected to have to replace them at some point. We did some research and decided that we wanted to replace these parts with Evinrude parts. These parts were high quality parts that had been voted the top boat replacement parts for a few years in a row. We looked around for the best selection and easily found them.
We also went about updating the boat with new boat accessories. The boat accessories that we had before, just like the outboard engine needed updating too. I was happy that along with the outboard, we were able to find a great deal of accessories that added to the happy feeling that our boat gave us as we zipped around the lake. It is funny how adding just a few new things to an old boat can give it a whole new look. My whole family enjoyed the changes we made to our boat; we might use it even more these days than we did a few years ago because of the changes we have made.

The thing with remodeling your home in order to increase its value is that sometimes you lose sight of the biggest reason why to upgrade: to enjoy it yourself, NOW.
With that in mind, the typical remodeling jobs — and the ones most recommended, because they bring the most return on your investment — are also some of the most boring ones. Here are a few guilty pleasures that you can enjoy now — whether or not they bring a return on your investment!
- A hot tub. Seriously, who cares if you lose money on this upgrade? At least you will have fun doing it! Besides, there are some good cheap hot tubs on the market now. And, heck, portable spas are a great investment not for the house but for your well being — not the least of which because you can always opt to take yours with you when you move.
- A garden. Landscaping can help you to sell a home, yes, but gardens can detract in some ways. They are wasteful of water and require a lot of maintenance, which turns some buyers off. But if you enjoy a beautiful garden, go for it!
- Hardwood floors. Hardwood floors are expensive to install or refinish and more difficult to maintain than carpet, but they are also beautiful to behold. You might not get your money’s worth when you sell the house, but in the meantime you will enjoy every bare inch of wood!
What upgrades have you made to your home because you wanted to enjoy them, even if you never saw a return on your investment?

If you are accused of a crime, you will want to hire your own lawyer if you at all possibly can. I know it’s a big expense, but it may well be worth it — sometimes it can mean the difference between a light sentence and a harsh one, or even being acquitted versus being found guilty!
Here are three good reasons to hire your own lawyer if you are ever accused of a crime.
- Hiring your own lawyer gives you a choice. If you can’t afford your own lawyer, you will be appointed a public defender. This is a lawyer who works for the city, rather than for you, and defends a large number of people who can’t afford their own lawyer. You won’t get a choice in who the court appoints to represent you, and even if you have a good reason for wanting someone else, you may have a difficult time getting the court to see your side of it.
- Public defenders are overworked. The biggest problem with being represented by a public defender is that they are usually WAY overworked. They have a gazillion cases assigned to them by the courts, and the result is that they usually have too many cases to pay any one the attention they should. On the other hand, if you hire your own St. Petersburg criminal lawyer, you can rest assured knowing that you are paying your lawyer well to focus more of their time and attention on your case.
- Public defenders have the court’s interests in mind. A public defender’s goal is to get you to plea bargain as quickly as possible, so that they can get your case off their desk and focus on getting the next person to plea bargain as well. They don’t really have your interests in mind — in fact, by overworking them, the courts ensure that they will essentially make decisions that benefit the courts, not you. Therefore if you need a Clearwater DUI attorney, you will get the best representation for YOU if you hire your own.
Our system is meant to make sure that people with no money still get decent representation. Certainly we make sure people get representation, but decent? I’m not sure that is always the case. That’s why it’s so important to hire your own lawyer!

It feels like so long ago that my husband and I hunted for a home, even though it’s only been three years. Lately we’ve been talking about possibly upgrading to a bigger home with horse property, and as we’ve been looking I’ve been reminded of a few things the first time around.
Here are a few tips to help you while you’re shopping for a new home in Carlsbad CA:
- First make a list of what you want. Before you go look at any homes, online or during a tour, you should first make a list of what you absolutely will not compromise on — both what you want and what you don’t want. Also make a list of would-likes and would-not-likes so that you have a chance to flesh out your idea of the perfect home. THEN start shopping.
- Consider your career. You don’t want to live too far from work, so keep this in mind as you look at different neighborhoods. Also if you are a sole proprietor, consider whether you want to get office space in San Diego, or whether you would prefer to set up a home office and save yourself the added expense and the commute.
- Is your family expected to grow anymore? If so, be sure to keep that in mind, and look for a home that will provide you with more space than you need now, to be filled by children and/or pets later on down the road.
- Don’t forget about money. Of course, all of this comes at a price — and it’s your job to make sure it’s a price you can afford. Don’t make the mistake many homeowners made not too long ago, of buying more house than they could afford. It’s just not a good idea.
Shopping for a new home can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a tremendously stressful period of your life. By keeping things organized, both in your head and on paper, you can make sure that house hunting goes as smoothly as it possibly can.

The weather is getting warmer. Summer is almost here. I’m excited but I also just realized that I have tons of things that I have to do to get ready for this summer.
Here’s a look at some of the plans I need to execute before summer gets here:
- Make my travel plans. I’m hoping to get out of the country this summer which means finding my passport and getting my tickets and learning something about my destination.
- Figure out my weight loss plans. I want to lose a little bit of weight this summer because my BMI is higher than it should be. I’m thinking about using the Cookie Diet but I haven’t decided for sure.
- Buy new summer clothes. My swimsuit and summer dresses are really dated and it’s definitely time for an upgrade. I could use some new sandals too.
- Make a reading list. I read a lot during the summer and I want to put a list together of the books I’d like to get around to reading this year.
- Review my goals for the year. I make goals every year and it’s a good idea to review them before summer rolls around to see if I’m on track with them or not.
What do you need to do before summer arrives?
