Airsoft Gun Regulations

March 27th, 2009 by SMO

airsoft gunUsing airsoft guns have risks.  These risks have not gone unnoticed.  Airsoft guns are illegal in Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, and Thailand.  Canada has strict import laws regarding airsoft guns.  In the U.S. federal laws require that airsoft guns that are imported into the country must have a bright orange tip on the barrel.  This also applies to airsoft guns transported with in the U.S.  This is to differentiate airsoft guns from real firearms.  Airsoft guns, like the Echo1 airsoft guns, are incredibly realistic looking.  Many airsoft gun dealers sell their guns with orange tips and they let buyers know that removing the tip is illegal.

In the United States, you must be at least 18 years old to buy an airsoft gun.  However, airsoft guns are not considered to be firearms and, therefore, are legal for anyone to use regardless of age.  Be aware that some states and counties do have restrictions on air gun usage.  Chicago, New York City, D.C. and San Francisco have actually banned airsoft guns completely.

Some countries have very specific laws and regulations when it comes to airsoft guns.  There are some places that have maximum velocity requirements.  Other restrictions include having to paint the gun an unusual color to help differentiate it from real guns.  California has laws that make it illegal to show realistic looking firearm replicas is public.

The bottom line is that it is safest to treat airsoft guns like real guns when handling and transporting them.  Irresponsible use of airsoft guns can lead to injury or even death.  Minors should always be carefully supervised when they use airsoft guns.  Before purchasing an airsoft gun, look into any local laws or regulations surrounding their use.

Keeping Track of Your Social Media Marketing

March 25th, 2009 by andik

Social media marketing is one the most popular buzz phrases in the world of marketing right now. Companies of all sizes and from all industries are using it to connect with their target audience in a new, exciting way. They use tools like Twitter, Facebook, blogs, Digg, ReddIt, and more to engage their audience.

Of course, to get the most out of your social media marketing campaign, you need to have a focused campaign. The mistake most companies make is not monitoring how much time they spend on it. They surf around Twitter or Facebook engaging in meaningless conversation, and before they know it, several hours have passed.

That’s why I recommend using a project management software system to monitor your SMM. With project time tracking, you can set aside a specific amount of time for engaging in social marketing. This will keep you from wasting time, making sure you only work toward your ultimate marketing goals.

This leads to my next point. You should have goals for your social media campaign. Common goals include link building, improved brand awareness, increased sales, active brand reputation management, and improved search engine placement. Working toward a goal will help ensure your social media marketing stays on track.

What to make of stranger owned life insurance

March 25th, 2009 by andik

Things are changing a bit in the world of life insurance coverage. No longer do people just get as much insurance coverage as they can afford and hope that it is enough. Now, people are doing something about their situation by seeking our lenders to take on a portion of the burden with them. This is becoming something of a big business, too, as tons of lenders out there will compete for people who are well within the category of qualifying for a big time life insurance policy. So what do we make of this stranger owned life insurance stuff?

First of all, it can make a lot of sense on plenty of levels. Life insurance financing can give you extraordinary flexibility, and many of the loan terms associated with this type of financing are as good as you are going to get in the world of loans. Because the majority of people seeking a loan for their life insurance policy are of solid means, they are able to get good rates and competitive loan terms. In addition, the number of companies competing for the right to finance such loans makes it even more advantageous for people to pursue them. In short, the advantages to going after such an offer make it more than worth your while, especially considering the great options in life insurance these days.

How to Sell Gold Jewelry for Cash

pawn-gold

If you’re trying to find a way to get some extra cash without doing a whole lot of hard work then you have several options. One of those options is to take any gold jewelry that you have and to sell it for cash. But how do you go about doing that?

Here are some choices you have if you want to sell gold jewelry for cash:

  • Take it to a local pawn shop. They will tell you immediately what they’ll pay for it and pay you right away. The drawback is that you may not get much money for your gold this way.
  • Sell it at an online auction site such as ebay. Some people are very successful at selling their gold this way.
  • Locate an online buyer that specializes in the purchase of gold. There are many online stores that will accept your gold via mail and pay you for it accordingly.
  • Have an estate sale. You can sell gold jewelry as a single item with other large items that you have available for sale (such as antique furniture).

There are several options for people who want to sell gold jewelry locally or online. Take the time to consider the right method for you so that you are happy with the end result of making this sale.

My First Experience with Customs

March 22nd, 2009 by searcher

I recently took my very first trip out of the United States — actually, out of the lower 48 states.  This was my very first experience with customs and passport control, and on the whole it was pretty reasonable.

When we arrived in London, we had to go through passport control, which is a fancy way of saying they check your passports, make sure it’s you, and ask you a few questions about what you’ll be doing while in the country.  Everyone who just got off the plane is going through the line at the same time as you, so there is a post & rope setup to keep everyone moving through like good little sheep.

Coming home was much of the same, except that we had to go through customs AND security.  At the first stop, we were blocked from entering the rest of the airport until we’d gone through both, by means of another post and rope system.  First we went through customs, where we had to declare a dollar amount for what we were bringing back with us, indicate whether they were personal souveneirs or business merchandise, and answer some questions about whether we’d come into contact with any lifestock or farm dirt.

Then it was back through security — though why I don’t know, because we hadn’t acquired anything since going through security the first time, in London.  Maybe they just don’t trust other countries’ security personnel!

My experience may have been good, but just days after getting back, I heard about someone’s experience that wasn’t so positive — someone trying to cross the U.S. border on a business trip.  It makes me shudder to think of how it would have destroyed the vacation if I’d had to deal with a delay like that!
