Once when I was a kid I found a golf ball in a lake. My friend was letting me borrow his goggles and snorkel. People used to hit them off their docks, as far as they could, into the lake. I suppose they don’t much do that anymore. Now we try to keep our lakes pristine. I counted the dimples on the golf ball. I made a little dot in ink after I counted each dimple, to be sure I wouldn’t count it again. When I asked my parents why golf balls are shaped that way, they didn’t know. Neither did my teacher. I asked everyone until someone said “they fly further that way,” but he couldn’t tell me why that was so.
I became an engineer, and, strange to say, ended up designing golf equipment. Clubs, mostly. There are good jobs in the golf industry. A lot of engineering to it all. A lot of rich people will pay a lot of money to improve their golf games by a small margin. A waste of effort? Nah, it was a good job, and people try to perfect everything.
In fact, I’m an instructor at an academy of golf, now, as something of a retirement job. The truth is, I love the sport. I’d be a golf pro if I were good enough. And if you’re wondering: 535 dimples, although golf balls vary and most today have fewer than that.

There are a lot of new things out there for dogs and their humans. I just got my labradoodle puppy the other day and we went shopping to see what was out there. I was amazed because of the array of things we could choose from. My main goal was to get a doggie door. There were a ton of doors to choose from. One just had to choose where to put the door, and really the options were endless. Instead of just putting one in the wall to outside there were more options than I knew were available. I could put a PetSafe dog door in my wall like I typically would have.
But I could also change it up a bit and put in a sliding glass dog door. I was surprised that I could actually do that. The funniest one to me though was the PetSafe electronic dog door. This is a doggy door that senses the dog and opens for him, similar to a self opening door at a store. I love that I have so many options. Of course, I just have to narrow down what I want and what will be best for my dog.

When I first started coaching I coached a soccer team because my son was small and he wanted to play soccer. He later decided he wanted to play a different sport so I decided to coach that team as well. However, I kept coaching the previous team because I grew to know and love the kids.
Now I am coaching three different teams and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I didn’t know how to coach when I first began and now nearly all of my free time is occupied with sports. One of the parents on my teams was beginning to get the idea that I was getting buried in work with these projects and suggested I install some league software to keep the teams organized and lessen the amount of stress I was experiencing. Not long after the program was put in place I immediately felt relieved from my increasing workload.
The program allows me to contact the parents all at once, organize payments, and post a calendar. The calendar is a great reminder for parents so they can get their kids to the practices and games that are scheduled on time. I have received a lot of great response from the parents as well.

One of the coolest, most useful things that you can add to your truck in order to make it look better and work better is a bed liner. If you are spending good money on a truck, you should want to make sure that you keep everything about it in good condition. Most people who own trucks carry stuff around in the back. If you don’t have a truck bed liner, you could find that the dings and scratches make for quite the unsightly look. This is the primary reason why people choose to add this to their truck.
There is another reason, too. What you might not know about truck bed liners is that they can add a whole lot to the look of your truck. They can make your truck look like the fine automobile that you had been wanting when you made the purchase. Many companies make these things, so you will undoubtedly be able to find one that is just the right color and style. Not all bed liners look great on all trucks, so it’s up to you to find the one that matches your truck the exact right way. That shouldn’t be a challenge, though, given the current climate in the truck market.

I’m starting to second- guess my idea of becoming a personal trainer. Seriously. I work in a pretty upperclass gym so most of my clients are housewives with lots of time and money on their hands, and a couple of amateur athletes looking to step it up a notch. I do my best to keep them motivated, make sure their protein intake is what it should be for building muscle mass, and that their workout techniques are right so they don’t hurt themselves.
But last week I got this guy as a new client and he has been just drilling me with questions. Now I like people who take an active interest in their health, and I really appreciate those that do their homework about health, fitness and supplements. It’s all about the entire lifestyle, I always say. But this guy is exhausting. Every session, he’s asking me about a new steroid and what I know. Should he take winstrol? What about dianabol? What do I know about anavar? I tell him what I know, and suggest he goes to reputable places for any products or supplements he’s interested in buying, but he wants ME to TELL him what to buy, and that’s just not my job. I believe in steroids but what you take is a personal choice. Be smart, eat right, workout, get plenty of sleep, and be well-versed on anything you put in your body.
Man, he makes me tired….
