Sleep Apnea in Children

November 23rd, 2008 by SMO

Sleep apnea in children is a very serious medical condition and should not be left untreated. Untreated sleep apnea during childhood can lead to serious and sometime potentially life-threatening conditions. A child that has sleep apnea and is not treated can experience developmental problems, learning problems, and behavior problems. More serious problems that can develop include high blood pressure, heart problems, and failure to grow. Untreated sleep apnea can also result in mental problems such as depression and personality changes. If you think your child displays the symptoms of sleep apnea, you should consult his/her physician for a true diagnosis and do not leave the sleep disorder untreated.

In some cases, removal of the tonsils and adenoids may eliminate the symptoms of sleep apnea in children. Some children with mild sleep apnea may outgrow it. However, some children are required to use CPAP machines in order to treat sleep apnea. A sleep apnea machine may take some adjusting to for both you and your child, but the results that you will see in your child’s life will be well worth the effort. If your child has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and the physician has prescribed a CPAP machine, we have a wide selection of CPAP supplies to choose from. Don’t risk your child’s physical and mental well being. Sleep apnea is a treatable disorder and does not have to result in serious consequences.

What is the Most Cost Effective Health Insurance Policy for My Family?

November 22nd, 2008 by pattya

Although it hasn’t happened yet, everyone at my job is aware that our company is going to be closing its doors over the next couple of months.  Therefore, I want to plan ahead and get health coverage started before our Florida group health insurance plans are dropped.

We have an emergency savings account that will take care of our families bills for a while but I know that one medical emergency can completely wipe out all that we have in that account.  Having health insurance will lessen that out of pocket risk.  However, I didn’t know which Florida health insurance is the best plan for my family.  A co-worker suggested I take a look at a site online for an insurance broker that provides comparisons of different types of coverage.  The site outlined the different plans available and when or why a consumer might need them.  I had a pretty good idea about which plan I wanted but I had some additional questions and the broker was able to easily clarify them for me.

I am getting the policy started next month and I am going to talk to my human resources department to see if I can cancel my insurance at work.  I didn’t realize it could be so easy to get Fl health insurance, but I am glad it was.

Fly Fishing Prospects in the Georgia Waters

November 20th, 2008 by SMO

A fisherman friend once said, if you’re interested in fly fishing and want to find a good fly fishing guide, GA is a good place to look. In Georgia, the weather stays warm for much longer and these guys train and work on some of best fishing spots. Freshwater lakes and rivers in protected park land make for great fly fishing in ga. Trout and bass are common and you’ll be busy the whole time learning different patterns. That natural setting is what everyone needs to unwind and experience the world in its natural state.

When I talked to him last, he said that he’d read an article called Fly Fishing North GA, where fishing conditions were described on the Toccoa River and other places in the Chattahoochee National Forest. He said several fishermen were concerned if environmental change would affect fly fishing, but it wasn’t yet known if other factors beyond overdevelopment near fishing areas were soon going to impact how fish were caught, or if the sport could itself be endangered. There wasn’t a doubt that it was affecting conditions elsewhere, so the fly fishermen were being urged to voice their own concerns to be recognized.

Mystery Headaches

November 19th, 2008 by SMO

I had been getting headaches for a few months, but didn’t think much about it. After all, times are tough, and work has been stressful. The company I have worked at forever has not been laying people off like so many other companies have, but business has been down. Plus, the stresses of daily life just seem to have been building.

When the headaches turned into regular migraines though, I had to do something about it. I hate going to doctors, but I knew it had come to that. So I went, and they couldn’t find anything wrong right away. So it was off for more tests like stress tests, blood work and all kinds of fun stuff.

Still they found nothing though. But the main physician I had been going to did bring up a very good point. Because of the suggestion of my physician disability insurance is something I looked into. I had never thought about getting disability insurance quotes. In fact I had never really thought about long term disability insurance at all! But the doctor pointed me in the direction of several articles that pointed out how common it really was for people to become disabled. And since they couldn’t figure out what was wrong yet, I should look into it now.

Airsoft vs. Paintball

November 18th, 2008 by SMO

Although both sports are relatively new, airsoft is definitely lesser known than paintball.  But that doesn’t mean that airsoft is any less entertaining. One of the major advantages of airsoft over paintball is that the start up costs on average are much lower.  Also, you can choose to spend according to how much you play the sport or what level of competition you are in.  The sheer choice involved when choosing a KWA airsoft is much more expansive than in paintball.

Since the sport of airsoft is expanding at such an incredible rate there is always new and exciting equipment coming available on the market.  Paintballs also tend to be quite expensive.  Airsoft bb’s on the other hand tend to come quite cheap, especially when purchased in large amounts.  Depending on your playing style, you can end up going through hundreds of bb’s in an afternoon, which would cost hundreds of dollars if you were using paintballs.  However, if you haven’t played either of the sports before, you might want to familiarize yourself with both games.  No matter what you choose in the end, the decision to get involved in either KWA airsoft or paintball will surely be one that you won’t regret.
