Things We Think We Can’t Do

September 20th, 2008 by autoPiloting

If we are lucky when we are growing up we are told all of the time that we can do anything that we want to do. Unfortunately, the majority of us stop believing this somewhere along the line. We start putting limitations on ourselves and fail to achieve our real dreams as a result of the fact that we dismiss them and decide not to chase after them at all.

This is an inspirational blog post that just wants to send you a single message: you can still do anything that you want to do!

Let’s say that you’re interested in starting an ebay business but you decide that you’re not going to bother because you don’t even know how to start your own business. Stop those thoughts in their tracks. Other people have learned how to start an ebay business and you can learn to start your own ebay business too!

There are a lot of limitations that are placed on us in life because of things that are beyond our control. However, many of our restrictions are based only on our own fears and hesitations. Stop letting them hold you back and just go for whatever you want to really do!

Travel Goals for My Future

September 20th, 2008 by autoPiloting

I have been lucky enough to do a lot of different traveling throughout my lifetime. We traveled a lot with the family when I was a kid and I continued that pattern into my adulthood. However, there are some travel experiences that I haven’t had yet which I would like to have sometime in my life.

Travel goals for my future include:

• Using the option to book all inclusive vacation packages. I usually piece together my trip with reservations here and there but I like the idea of doing it all in one shot someday.
• Taking a train across an entire country. I don’t even know if I want that country to be the U.S. or Canada or somewhere else but I definitely want to do it.
• Going on an extreme adventure. I’ve never really done a lot of adventure traveling although I’ve hiked a lot and done a few other cool activities.
• Book charter flights. I don’t even know how to do this but I want to learn one of these days!

For the most part, I’m happy with the history of travel that I have behind me. However, I want to continue to embrace new experiences and to do travel things that I’ve never done before.

Unexpected Trip

September 19th, 2008 by SMO

I have to fly back home to take care of my mom for a while, and getting all of my ducks in a row has proved to be a major undertaking. The first thing I had to take care of was finding someone to keep an eye on my house. I could be gone for a few months, and I don’t want my pool turning green, or worse, some kind of disaster like a plumbing leak to go unchecked for a month or two.

And then there is work. I hope I will have a job to come back too. They seem pretty understanding about it all, and the company does have a policy regarding extended emergency leaves. However, this is a right to work state which I think means that they can actually fire people for no reason whatsoever.

And the logistics involved with taking my dog are crazy. I’m not about to put him in a kennel for a couple of months. And I can’t impose on any of my friends to take care of him. The airline says his shots need to be up to date which they are. They also require airline approved pet carriers which of course I don’t have. I also should probably make sure he is up to date on his K9 Advantix for dogs and that Advantage flea stuff too.

Could SOMEONE Support Me

September 18th, 2008 by SMO

I hate my current storefront software, and it was so crazy expensive that I feel really bad balking out of it, but it sucks. I can’t figure it out and I can’t get anyone on the phone to help me. Their idea of support is pretty much the opposite of award winning, if you get my drift. I emailed them, no response for a week, and even then, it told me to check out their frequently asked questions. Why on earth would I not have checked there first? It’s like saying, “figure it out yourself” when obviously I’ve tried. Isn’t that part of what I am paying ludicrous amounts of money for? Therefore, I have decided to jump ship to a new asp.net shopping cart. Because you know what, life’s too short. I want good customer service, and a personal touch wouldn’t hurt. I want a better ecommerce shopping cart software and better storefront software, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Especially since this new brand promises to be better with responding to emails and supporting their clients than many others I’ve seen on the market, so you know what, I’m done, I’m switching over. Case closed.

Brands and Accessories For Trucks

September 14th, 2008 by autoPiloting

I have recently done a lot of research into shopping for trucks because I’m considering making this type of big purchase and I don’t want to go wrong with it. What I think I’ve learned is that there are two different things that you need to look at when buying a truck. First you need to look at the brand of the truck. Second, you need to look at truck accessories to improve the truck.

The brand of the truck is an interesting issue because it not only applies to the brand of the vehicle itself but will ultimately also apply to the brand of the accessories that you purchase to improve the truck. You may know your Dodge from your Ford but do you know your bully dog from your diablosport? If not, it’s something that I think you’d need to learn before doing any serious truck buying.

The accessories that you purchase for your truck seem to be almost as important as the truck itself. Some of these accessories make the truck easier to drive (running boards would be an example of that). Others, such as improved gas systems, can serve to enhance the performance of the vehicle. You want a vehicle that you like to drive and that you’ll continue to enjoy driving for a long period of time. Or I do anyway. That’s why I’m taking my time with this purchase!
