Equipment Lease Gives New Businesses Room for Change

December 20th, 2007 by autoPiloting

Many new businesses start out by getting a number of small business loans and heading to the store. They max out their brand new business credit cards purchasing equipment to fill up their new spaces. It’s an unfortunately common mistake. The problem is that most new businesses don’t actually know yet which equipment they’ll need and won’t need as the business grows. They end up getting a number of items that become unnecessary down the line and yet still have to pay for them each month since they were bought using the small business loan.

One alternative that many businesses are exploring is equipment lease. When you lease equipment, you are able to get all of the items that you think you’ll need for your grand opening. As your business grows, you’ll notice that certain equipment is used daily whereas other equipment isn’t very efficient. Noting these changes, you can adapt to make your business run more productively. When you’ve taken out a loan to buy your equipment, you have to sell the equipment to get some money back and then possibly take out more of a loan to buy new pieces. When you lease equipment, you can return what doesn’t work and try something better.
